
Ooey,Gooey Butter Cake
Gooey Butter Cake is a type of cake traditionally made in Saint Louis, Missouri.
The cake was supposedly first made by accident in the 1930s, by a St. Louis-area German American baker who was trying to make regular cake batter but used the wrong proportions of ingredients.
BOTTOM INGREDIENTS:
1 package yellow cake mix..I like Duncan Hines
1 stick of butter (melted)
2 eggs
Mix all of the ingredients above together.
Grease and flour bottom of 9 x 13 pan.
Press dough all around bottom of pan with hands.
TOP INGREDIENTS:
1 8 oz package of cream cheese (softened)
2 eggs
1 box of powdered sugar(1LB)
Mix cheese until light and fluffy, add eggs and mix well, then add 3/4 box of powdered sugar. Mix until all of the lumps are completely gone. Pour this mixture over cake in pan . Bake at 350 Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes.
Sprinkle other 1/4 box of powdered sugar on top when done.
